ABOUT:
Steven Horry is a comics writer, artist and illustrator. He is currently writing the ongoing Chalk series, which features art by Catia Fantini and is published as part of the Comichaus anthology.
“Chalk exemplifies what I’m loving about Comichaus, it’s a blistering, genre-splitting shot in the arm that shows us the basics of the strip’s premise but injects enough mystery to make us want more.” – A Place To Hang Your Cape
“Beautifully drawn…we’re confident in saying it’s one of the most hard hitting intros to a story and despite playing its cards close to it’s chest it’s clear Chalk is going to be a flagship forComichaus.” – Pipedream Comics
He is also responsible for the art for the Image Comics OGN Double D and the Transrealities mini-series. More information and sample pages can be found in the Comics section of this site. His work has also been published by Nasty Little Press and Avery Hill Publishing.
His work has appeared in The Guardian as well as websites such as Artrocker, Splendid Berlin, Time Out, Line Of Best Fit, The Londonist, Billetto, Remote Goat, Kentishtowner.co.uk, Kasterborous.com and Supajam, and in 2013 his first graphic novel – The Islanders – was published by Nasty Little Press. Based on the lo-fi musical written by Art Brut singer Eddie Argos with Amy Mason and folk musician Jim Moray, The Islanders was described by MTV Geek as “an honest and straightforward depiction of two people’s realities, framed in youthful dreams and objective recollection…faces convey silent emotions, gestures speak volumes; the scattered moments when clouds part and color burst through the black-and-white-and-greywash of the English summertime pack a powerful punch.”
